Job summary

Quinte Health's Belleville General Hospital is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Technical Aide to support MRI Technologists by preparing patients, maintaining clean, stocked rooms and assisting with patient transfers using safe practices.

You'll work in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment, gain exposure to Diagnostic Imaging services, and contribute to high-quality patient care while developing your skills in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate.
  • Enrolled in or completed a health-care related post-secondary program.
  • Initiative, organizational and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication with physicians, patients and healthcare team.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends and stat holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with moving patients using patient lifting devices under supervision.
  • Transport patients within the department with the Technologist.
  • Prepare rooms for patient procedures and clean after procedures.
  • Ensure adequate levels of supplies for daily operations.
  • Report equipment deficiencies to the Technologist, Charge Technologist or Manager.
  • Participate in continuing education for professional growth.

Required
  • High School Graduate.
  • Enrolled in or successfully completed a relevant Health Care related post-secondary program.
  • Initiative, organizational, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Must be available to work all shifts including evenings, weekends and stat holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check.
Duties
  • Assists with moving patients on and off the table utilizing patient lifting devices while adhering to safe work practices under the supervision of a regulated health professional.
  • Assists the Technologist with the transportation of patients within the department.
  • Assist the Technologist in preparing the room for patient procedures and clean rooms post-procedure.
  • Responsible for ensuring an adequate level of products and supplies to support daily operations.
  • Reports equipment deficiencies to the Technologist, Charge Technologist or Manager.
  • Demonstrates willingness to provide the highest quality service appropriate to the position based on the concept and philosophy of continuous and quality improvement.
  • Demonstrates courteous behaviour through polite and respectful communication with all co-workers and patients.
  • Participates in continuing education in order to increase his/her own professional growth and development.
  • Maintains a general working knowledge of the provision of Diagnostic Imaging services - policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
