Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Halifax is seeking a software-focused engineer to join the River Class Destroyer LBTF project. You will be part of the software team, supporting TAE and related systems, acting as SME for system design areas, and collaborating in an Agile environment to deliver secure, scalable software.

The role requires a degree or diploma, 2+ years of experience, and readiness to work on-site with potential evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

Job description

The successful candidate will contribute to the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Land Based Test Facility (LBTF) project as a member of the Software team conducting the following activities:

• Support the Test and Analysis Environment (TAE) and other related systems at the LBTF
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for relevant system design areas
• Support software development with build and support tools
• Design next generation of system architecture for Government of Canada (CANADA)
• Develop new systems for development operations and security
• Reports to the program team lead
• Working in an Agile team environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma from an accredited university or college in a related discipline or realworld experience
• 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Have an aptitude for solving Information Technology (IT) problems
• Willing and able to support schedule including evenings and weekends, as required
• Willing to learn new skills as required by position
• Have an aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
• Eligible for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret clearance in a timely manner.
• Have a security-first mindset
• Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
• Have an understanding of Linux based Operating System (OS) configuration
• Have an understanding of Windows System administration and automated deployment
• Able to work 100% onsite.
