Job summary

Myticas Consulting is seeking an experienced IT Specialist with strong Kubernetes expertise to manage, support, and optimize containerized applications and infrastructure in Ottawa. The role covers on-premises and public cloud environments, with emphasis on automation and reliable operations.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on Kubernetes deployment, AKS experience, and proficiency in Terraform/Ansible for IaC, along with solid scripting skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker and containerization technologies.
  • Minimum three years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes within both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, storage, and Linux-based systems.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance and availability of Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated application deployment and infrastructure changes.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Kubernetes, Docker, networking, storage, and container orchestration.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design scalable, reliable, and highly available solutions.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices within Kubernetes environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Perform regular system audits, upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for Kubernetes environments, configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Evaluate new Kubernetes capabilities, technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve the environment.
  • Support both cloud-based and bare-metal infrastructure supporting containerized workloads.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Specialist with strong Kubernetes expertise to manage, support, and optimize containerized applications and infrastructure.
