Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a DevOps/Build Engineer to update and improve GitLab CI/CD components for Java and Maven applications. You will design pipelines, implement caching and parallelization, and manage runners and registries to boost performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with Development, Security, SRE and Platform teams to promote secure, scalable delivery practices and evaluate new GitLab features and the latest DevOps trends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, build engineering or software development.
• Hands-on GitLab CI/CD experience with reusable components, templates, runners, caching and artifacts.
• Hands-on software development experience, preferably with Java and Maven-based apps.
• Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, security scanning and artifact publishing.
• Experience with GitLab security scanning, Docker and container registries.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Bash or another scripting language.
• Strong troubleshooting across builds, pipelines, runners, containers and security scans.
• Knowledge of CI/CD security and software supply-chain practices.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, build engineering or software development

• Hands-on software development experience, preferably with Java and Maven-based applications
• Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, security scanning and artifact publishing
• Experience with GitLab security scanning, Docker, container registries and package registries
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Bash or another scripting or programming language
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application builds, pipelines, runners, containers and security scans
• Strong understanding of CI/CD security, secrets management and software supply-chain practices
• Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services (AWS), GitOps, Argo CD or Terraform is an asset
• GitLab certifications and experience with regulated or mission-critical platforms are assets.
