Job summary

CIBC is seeking a DevOps Consultant to join the Alternate Solutions Group, Capital Markets Technology, driving build, deployment, and CI/CD excellence. You will work with Golang, Java, NodeJS, and middleware to optimize production readiness and accelerate delivery.

The role supports a hybrid work model with on-site and remote days, collaborating across application development, QA, operations, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT experience with Go/Java/Python/NodeJS development and Middleware administration.
• Strong understanding of JVM tuning and configuration.
• Proficient in Linux shell scripting (ksh, bash).
• Solid knowledge of DevOps concepts, tools (Jira, Confluence, Snyk, Aqua).
• Experience with CI/CD toolchains (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and version control (Git, GitHub).
• Familiar with cloud/deployment platforms (Azure DevOps, OpenShift).
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Build & Deploy: Design, develop and maintain automated build and deployment systems; create artifacts/docker images and deploy to Azure DevOps / RedHat OpenShift / Linux environments.
• CI/CD: Maintain automated CI/CD pipelines; define deployment strategy to UAT/PTE/Prod; document build, deployment and configuration processes.
• DevOps Champion: Drive deployment automation end-to-end and promote streamlined lifecycle experiences across teams.
• Experimentation and Innovation: Seek opportunities to improve delivery processes and increase production monitoring and automation.
