Position Overview

As the DevOps Architect at Rival Insurance Technology, you will be responsible for overseeing DevOps technology and processes. You will provide architectural solutions and continuous improvement strategies to enhance our software development lifecycle. Your role will involve designing and implementing automated solutions for building and deploying software, designing hosting solutions for deployed software, and guiding development teams on best practices to achieve DevOps goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee DevOps technology and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across the software development lifecycle.
• Participate or lead the design and implementation of automated solutions for building and deploying developed software to production and non-production environments.
• Design hosting solutions for deployed software, focusing on availability and scalability to meet business needs.
• Provide architectural guidance and expertise to development teams to ensure alignment with DevOps principles and best practices.
• Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to optimize DevOps processes and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in DevOps and incorporate them into our practices.
• Mentor and coach team members on DevOps methodologies and tools to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What You’ll Need

• A degree in computer science/engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in a similar DevOps role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing automated software delivery pipelines focusing on continuous integration and deployment (e.g., Azure DevOps).
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills required for delivering solutions within deadlines.
• Proficiency in version control and code documentation (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, with a preference for Azure.
• Experience in designing and deploying applications in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, YAML, C#, Bicep, Python).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their use in achieving scalable and portable software deployments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
