CAMH in Toronto is seeking a Developmental Services Worker (DSW) to support clients with dual diagnosis through person-centred care, ADLs, and group activities. You will collaborate with an inter-professional team and assist in clinical processes, maintaining accurate documentation.

The role involves behavioral observation, data collection, and participation in program development, with rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and potential nights.

Qualifications

• Developmental Services Worker diploma from a recognized college.
• Direct experience with dual diagnosis (mental health and developmental disability).
• Competent understanding of behavioral treatment protocols and responsive-behavior approaches.
• Crisis prevention and intervention skills; use of least-restrictive strategies.
• Ability to coordinate meaningful, recovery-enhancing activities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Computer literacy for clinical documentation and communication.
• Ability to work with diverse ethno-cultural populations.

Responsabilités

• Provide ADLs and social-skills development with person-centred support.
• Escort clients to appointments and programming as needed.
• Facilitate groups and contribute to clinical processes.
• Implement behavioral supports and collect data under direction.
• Document observations and client responses to interventions.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and de-escalate as required.
• Collaborate within inter-professional teams and participate in case discussions.
• Complete timely clinical documentation and adhere to policies.
