Job summary

CAA SCO Systems & Services Inc. is seeking an experienced IT professional to install, configure, deploy and administer enterprise applications. You will understand system functionality, document dependencies, and provide timely production support across Linux and Windows environments.

You will participate in Agile development, DR planning, CI/CD automation, and on-call rotations, while maintaining production stability and accurate reporting to management.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in IT, computer science or related program.
  • 4-5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting websites and APIs.
  • Experience supporting .Net Web applications.
  • Production support experience with enterprise applications.
  • Production working experience of both Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experienced with configuring and managing SQL Server databases.
  • Change management and incident management experience.
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of API and Web Applications integration.
  • Experience setting up application monitoring (Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Experience setting up and automating CI/CD flows.
  • Shell scripting and Python.
  • Ansible would be an asset.
  • Guidewire Suite and/or React Applications an asset.
  • Strong communications skills, client-facing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to work outside of business hours for production deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, deployment & administration of enterprise applications.
  • Understand and research system functionality & application dependencies and keep accurate documentation
  • Perform day-to-day support, accurately identify, and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate timely reports to management regarding status of critical systems & processes
  • Actively participate in Agile development projects to represent the interests of maintaining Production application stability and adhering to Production readiness standards
  • Strive to improve production environment stability by working with others to set up, maintain and monitor applications and systems, while meeting availability targets.
  • Actively participate in DR planning and design, be involved in DR exercise
  • Timely prioritization & escalation of incidents to Senior Management
  • Build, automate, maintain & troubleshoot end-to-end release management (CI/CD) flows
  • Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and optimize operational environment
  • Develop and use appropriate metrics to monitor production environment
  • Follow established processes/standards, technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines
  • Work with infrastructure teams to establish best practices & standards for application installation, configuration & troubleshooting
  • Work with external vendors to coordinate a variety of functions including support, upgrades, patches
  • Debug & analyze application issues using standard tools available in the market
  • Maintain technology currency
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required

What You Will Do

  • Experience with Guidewire Suite (Policy center / Billing Center / Claim Center) and / or React Applications an asset
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written for a client facing role
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible to work outside of business hours for production deployments and application support
