Development Manager-Java Microservices
  • Pay Rate: $63.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Contract Length: 4 Months possible extension
  • Location: Brampton, Ontario

They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

As a Manager Technology, you will lead and manage Java Microservices-based engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, high-performance solutions. You will work closely with clients, product managers, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade applications that drive business value

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor Java engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Architect, design, and develop Java-based microservices solutions that align with business and technical requirements.
  • Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of microservices-based applications.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Drive best practices in Agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps to accelerate software delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of engineering initiatives.
  • Stay updated on emerging Java and microservices trends, tools, and frameworks to drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a customer-centric approach, ensuring that technology solutions meet business objectives and user needs.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture.
  • Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams in an Agile environment.
  • Expertise in Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive technical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a client-facing role.

  • Methodology & Architecture Frameworks:
