Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • P.Eng. designation with APEGA.
  • 5–10 years of upstream oil & gas experience.
  • Business Development and A&D experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of production forecasting and reservoir performance.
  • Ability to evaluate capital projects and investments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate drilling, recompletion, workover, and production optimization opportunities.
  • Develop capital programs and long-term field development plans.
  • Collaborate with geoscience and operations to optimize development strategies.
  • Evaluate waterflood and other enhanced recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor well and reservoir performance through surveillance and analysis.
  • Provide economic input for acquisitions and divestitures and regulatory filings.
  • Present technical recommendations to senior leadership.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Development/Exploitation Engineer with approximately 5-10 years of oil and gas experience. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen to identify opportunities, evaluate investments, and execute development plans that enhance asset value.

This position offers significant exposure to all aspects of the asset life cycle, including reservoir management, production optimization, capital planning, reserves, acquisitions and divestitures, and corporate planning.

Job Responsibilities
Asset Development
  • Identify and evaluate drilling, recompletion, workover, and production optimization opportunities.
  • Develop capital programs and long-term field development plans.
  • Collaborate with geoscience and operations teams to optimize development strategies.
  • Evaluate waterflood and other enhanced recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor well and reservoir performance through surveillance and analysis.
  • Support Geoscience to identify opportunities and develop optimal exploitation strategies
  • Conduct production forecasting, decline curve analysis, and assist with third party reserves evaluations.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve production and recovery on existing assets.
Commercial & Corporate
  • Prepare economic evaluations and investment recommendations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and corporate planning.
  • Provide technical input for acquisitions and divestitures
  • Support regulatory applications and development approvals.
  • Present technical recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience with an upstream oil and gas operator.
  • Business Development and A&D experience considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of production forecasting, reservoir performance, and field development.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate capital projects and investment opportunities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
