The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Development Coordinator for approximately 6 months.

The Office of Advancement exists for the mutual benefit of the University of Calgary and its stakeholders, coordinating development, alumni relations, communications, and community partnerships.
This position reports to the Director of Development, UCVM, providing support to the Director of Development, UCVM. The position works closely with other members of the UCVM Team, university Advancement Office, and members of many other business units within UCVM. The Development Coordinator supports the overall goal of this portfolio by ensuring the accurate and timely capture of relevant information on current donors and prospects that will help guide decision-making and generate gifts.
The Development Coordinator will provide administrative support with emphasis on decision-making and highly developed organizational skills and the ability to anticipate needs, plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work with no or very little direction. Strong time management skills, and must have the ability to set own priorities, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to deadline.
The successful candidate will possess maturity, self-confidence and poise to deal appropriately with a wide variety of people from the student level to high-profile community leaders and dignitaries and display a strong work ethic in all assignments which may vary from routine tasks to complex projects.
The position has a high volume of work driven by constant deadlines. The Development Coordinator has access to highly sensitive and confidential information, and interacts with key external stakeholders including donors, alumni and community leaders.
Early morning, evening and weekend hours are, on occasion, required. This position works out of the Spy Hill campus.

Qualifications / Requirements:
University degree or related education preferred and a minimum of 2 years directly related experience, preferably in a fundraising or post-secondary educational setting. Experience working with a veterinary faculty, UCVM, or in the animal health, agricultural or related sectors is considered an asset. Additional desired competencies include:
