Job summary

BEHLEN Industries LP, a leading Canadian steel building systems manufacturer, seeks a Structural Steel Detailer for our Brandon/Winkler, Manitoba operation. You will prepare detailed shop drawings, cut lists and erection drawings for structural and cladding components, reporting to Engineering & Innovation.

Required diplomas in structural tech or related field, 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing structures, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are essential; knowledge of 3D

Qualifications

• Completion of a Structural Engineering Technology, Architectural/Engineering Technology, Building Design CAD Technology diploma or degree.
• A Certified Engineering Technologist or equivalent designation will be viewed favourably.
• Combinations of experience and relevant courses will also be considered.
• Three to five years related experience with building structures in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD programs are a requirement.
• Experience with 3D detailing programs is an asset.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills; above average mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering & Innovation, our Structural Steel Detailer is responsible for completing detailed shop drawings for all structural components required in a Steel building system, as well as developing cut lists, shipping lists and final erection drawings for both Structural and Cladding.

This role requires:

• Completion of a Structural Engineering Technology, Architectural/Engineering Technology, Building Design CAD Technology diploma or degree.
