Job summary

Behlen Industries LP, a leading steel building systems manufacturer, is seeking a Structural Steel Detailer in Brandon, Manitoba. Reporting to Engineering leadership, you will prepare detailed shop drawings for structural components, develop cut and shipping lists, and produce erection drawings for both structural and cladding elements.

The role requires a diploma/degree in Structural Eng. Tech or Building Design CAD, with preferred 3D detailing experience and a CET designation.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Structural Eng. Tech or Building Design CAD.
• Certified Eng. Technologist designation viewed favourably.
• Experience with building structures in manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed shop drawings for structural components of steel building systems.
• Develop cut lists and shipping lists; prepare final erection drawings.
• Support project engineering with accurate 3D detailing and documentation.

STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering & Innovation, our Structural Steel Detailer is responsible for completing detailed shop drawings for all structural components required in a Steel building system, as well as developing cut lists, shipping lists and final erection drawings for both Structural and Cladding.

This role requires:

• Completion of a Structural Engineering Technology, Architectural/Engineering Technology, Building Design CAD Technology diploma or degree.
  • A Certified Engineering Technologist or equivalent designation will be viewed favourably.
  • Combinations of experience and relevant courses will also be considered.
• Three to five years related experience with building structures in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD programs are a requirement.
  • Experience with 3D detailing programs is an asset.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills;
• Above average mathematical skills; a strong, resourceful problem solver.
• Attention to detail, time and priority management are necessary for success.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment, continually adapt to change and work under pressure
