Join to apply for the Desk Adjuster - Level 1 role at Crawford & Company.

We are currently recruiting for a Adjuster Level 1 to join our team in Canada. The position location is flexible, with options for in-office, hybrid, or fully remote work arrangements.

The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle commercial and personal lines claims using various techniques and systems. They will also direct field adjusters as needed and ensure accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files.

Responsibilities
  • Investigation, collection, and analysis of claims information
  • Accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files
  • Evaluation of coverage, liability, and quantum
  • Maintenance of billing, and time and expense records
  • Negotiation, settlement, and finalization of claims
  • Collaborate with managers to maintain client relations
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of technical experience in an insurance claims environment
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field, working towards full Independent Adjusting License and CIP Designation
  • Knowledge of commercial and personal lines in Property and Auto PD is a plus
  • Ability to conduct telephone investigations, evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed activity, transaction, and reserve records
  • Advanced skills in Office 365 and Windows 10
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Bilingual in French/English is an asset
