We are currently recruiting for a

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Desk Adjuster Level 1 to join our team in Canada. The position location is flexible, and we can offer in-office, hybrid or fully remote working arrangements.

The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle commercial claims on the desktop using a variety of techniques and systems. The candidate will participate in ensuring accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files; identify potential responsible third parties. Actively pursue liability transfer when and where identified. Maintaining accurate reserving is critical to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Investigation, collection, and analysis of claims information.
  • Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files.
  • Evaluates coverage, liability and quantum.
  • Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records.
  • Negotiates, settles and finalizes claims.
  • Work with managers to maintain client relations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of technical experience in an insurance claims environment.
  • Working towards full Independent Adjusting License and CIP Designation.
  • AMF personal and/or commercial license would be an asset.
  • Multiple CIP courses would be considered an asset.
  • Maintain an active licence in home jurisdiction. Pursue licences in other provincial jurisdictions based on eligibility.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance related field is an asset.
  • Knowledge of commercial and personal lines in both Property and Auto PD will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to conduct telephone investigations, evaluate, negotiate and settle.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction and reserve records.
  • Advanced computer skills including Office 365 and Windows 10.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical ability.
  • French/English Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
