Product Development Engineer (Milton, VT or Bolton, Ontario)

We are hiring an experienced Product Development Engineer to lead the technical development of Hot Runner products and oversee their launch into manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Generate and evaluate mechanical concepts satisfying system functions and constraints
2. Evaluate and develop new technologies for hot runner products and manufacturing
3. Conduct engineering analysis including stress, thermal, flow, and physical testing
4. Design test models and test cells for validation
5. Evaluate product performance through testing and customer site tests
6. Create and manage development project plans and budgets, supporting commercialization
7. Contribute to business case formulation and evaluation
8. Organize and analyze data using statistical tools
9. Maintain project communication throughout all phases

Qualifications

1. University degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.A.Sc. and/or M.Sc.)
2. 5-7 years of design experience in new technology development
3. CAD proficiency (Unigraphics preferred)
4. Strong background in mechanical design, stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
5. Data analytics skills
6. GD&T knowledge
7. Metrology, tooling practices, and manufacturing knowledge
8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
9. Confident, self-starter with good communication skills
10. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
