Job description

Primary Responsibilities

In the Kingston Studio role, we will count on you to:

1. Evaluate, select and apply architectural techniques, procedures and modifications to architectural construction documents.
2. Perform architectural assignments independently with only general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager regarding the expected results.
3. Work directly with owners/clients and subconsultants to select and recommend procedures.
4. Coordinate subconsultant work for alignment with project requirements and Architectural Design.
5. Complete on-site evaluation of completed work and work with Contractors to lead Construction Administration efforts with support from the Project Architect or Project Manager.
6. Write specifications covering architectural matters and perform code reviews.
7. Assist Project Architects, other Architectural Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and take responsibility for work in all phases of the architectural process.
8. Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree in architecture.
2. Proficiency in French is an asset but not required.
3. Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
4. Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max but not required.
5. Rhino and Grasshopper experience.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
2. Must possess credentials to obtain future registration.
3. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
4. Desire to pursue growth opportunities and eventually obtain registration.
5. Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process.
8. Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
9. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
