A regional school board in Ontario is seeking a Designated Early Childhood Educator for a long-term occasional position. This role is fundamental in planning and implementing a full-day early learning program, providing age-appropriate Catholic programming, and ensuring a supportive learning environment. Candidates must hold a two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma, have relevant childcare experience, and demonstrate effective communication skills. Posted in accordance with article 12.01 (a) of the CUPE Collective Agreement as the anticipated duration of this opportunity is expected to exceed 6 months. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for CUPE local 1479 to permanent internal candidates. The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board serves approximately 12,000 students, employs over 1,400 full-time equivalent staff, and covers a geographical area of more than 16,000 square kilometers (Whitney in the North, Picton in the South, Trenton in the West, and Kingston in the East). Reporting to the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full‑day early learning program supporting the faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting and provide supervision and age‑appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students as part of the extended day program as required.
