Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Intermediate Technician, Design Support to contribute to municipal infrastructure projects. Based in Sudbury or Thunder Bay, you will enhance AutoCAD and Civil 3D capabilities while collaborating with engineers and designers on roads, drainage and utilities.

You will draft, check and revise models, maintain documentation, and support design decisions with multidisciplinary teams to move concepts toward delivery.

Qualifications

• A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field supporting municipal infrastructure design.
• Drafting or design-support experience in municipal infrastructure or similar consulting environment.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D for accurate design models and drawing packages.
• Familiarity with grading, municipal servicing, drainage, utilities, and roadworks.
• Ability to interpret engineering direction and maintain project documentation.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals and integrate feedback.

• Produce civil drawings for municipal roads, drainage, utilities and infrastructure.
• Develop and revise AutoCAD and Civil 3D models and drawings per standards.
• Improve design deliverables through drafting discipline and revision control.
• Maintain organized drawing packages and project documentation.

Your Impact

• Produce civil engineering drawings for municipal roads, drainage systems, utilities, and other infrastructure that supports growing communities.
• Develop and revise AutoCAD and Civil 3D models and drawings using clear engineering direction and applicable design standards.
• Strengthen the accuracy and quality of design deliverables through disciplined drafting, checking, and revision control.
• Maintain organized drawing packages and project documentation so teams can work efficiently throughout the design process.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to incorporate technical feedback, resolve drafting issues, and refine practical design solutions.
• Contribute quantity take-offs and foundational design support that help projects move from concept toward delivery.

Compensation

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $29.50 - $39.10 per hour
• MB & ON: $26.90 - $37.10 per hour
• NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $26.60 - $35.40 per hour
