Job Description

Must be a Canadian citizen.

  • Provide on-site support for battery pack and engine related activities.
  • Coordinate and run vehicle testing at proving grounds.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing on battery pack and engine components.
  • Prepare shippers for parts to be sent to supplier locations.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements & ensure proper design interfaces with other components, and all requirements are met.
  • Work with other functions like Design / Releasing teams to ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.
  • Translate Functional Objectives into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Create and analyze alternative design concepts.
  • Integrate system components.
  • Own and update Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to ensure requirements are met.
  • Conduct cost value analysis and identify opportunities.
  • Develop timelines and drive programs to meet deliverables.
  • Manage Tier I suppliers and hardware designs to meet program timing and deliverables.
  • Interface with stakeholders at all levels including vehicle teams, validation, requirement leads, technical specialists, and leadership; develop robust functional designs.
  • Present action plans with status/risks to keep programs on track.
  • Follow, track, and root cause build issues during pre-production, prior to launch, and warranty analysis.
  • Conduct concept design and feasibility studies.
  • Support resolution & design updates of vehicle packaging, logbook, and manufacturing issues.
  • Communicate component status and issues clearly using MS-Office applications.
  • Engage in early CAD creation and development prior to supplier onboarding.
  • Generate CAD and 2D drawings including GD&T.
  • Coordinate sample requests with Prototype Build Engineering.
  • Collaborate with designers on packaging and issue resolution.
  • Ensure completion of all necessary Teamcenter tasks.
  • Attend design reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Deliver program milestones on time.
  • Provide build and launch support as needed.
  • Monitor warranty and assist in root cause investigations.
  • Manage source packages and part numbers.
  • Design for manufacturing and coordinate assembly processes.
  • Act as point of contact for engine and battery pack hardware issues on-site/CTC.
  • Lead root cause analysis and support closure.
  • Lead change management processes.
