1. Providing contract administration, technical expertise, and support for medium-sized construction projects.
2. Managing design submissions, schedules, and communication to meet project requirements.
3. Coordinating design information flow between owners, designers, and internal teams.
4. Creating and communicating the Design Management Plan to ensure project timelines are met.
5. Establishing rules for design management processes such as RFIs, SIs, and change management.
6. Driving the design deviation request process and user groups as required.
7. Influencing design during schematic and development stages.
8. Serving as the primary contact for feedback related to design documents and reports.
9. Responding to client comments, balancing contract compliance, and risk management.
10. Ensuring team compliance with contractual obligations and addressing potential risks.

The qualifications for this role include:

1. A bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
2. Postsecondary education or training in relevant fields.
3. At least 15 years of progressive construction management experience.
4. Minimum 5 years as a Design Manager on complex projects.
5. Gold Seal certification (required); LEED, PMP, or P.Eng are assets.
6. Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
7. Proven leadership and safety culture implementation.
