Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Design Engineer in Training (EIT) in Chilliwack, BC, to develop structural designs for precast concrete structures and generate complete design packages. The role collaborates across Engineering, Sales, QA, and Production to ensure designs meet project specs and standards.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree with 2–4 years of design experience, familiarity with CSA/ASTM, and proficiency in Mathcad and MIDAS. Travel is limited to 10% and safety obligations apply.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Mathcad and MIDAS software for engineering calculations and structural analysis.
• 2-4 years of experience in structural design, preferably precast concrete.
• Experience applying CSA, ASTM, and similar standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural designs for precast concrete structures meeting project specs and standards.
• Produce accurate structural calculations and design documentation for review and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Quality, and Production to meet project requirements and timelines.
• Identify design issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement revisions to improve quality and manufacturability.
