  • 3D modelling (Siemens NX) of components and assemblies within vehicle environments.
  • Drafting using GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and identifying significant characteristics.
  • Creating and maintaining DFMEAs.
  • Defining setup and reviewing results of CAE/FEA/CFD activities with Analysis Engineers.
  • Writing component test specifications, working with Test Engineers to develop procedures and fixtures.
  • Coordination of validation testing and tracking performance in DVP&Rs.
  • Hands‑on assembly of prototypes, new concepts, or product demonstration builds.
  • Teardown and inspection to evaluate part condition and support root‑cause analysis.
  • Attend and support customer vehicle damper tuning events (international travel required).
  • Generate ideas for VA/VE initiatives for new and existing products.
  • Support of production line ramp‑up and troubleshooting (local travel required).
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 2 or more years of design engineering experience, at least 1 year in the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to take design concepts through to production launch.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate and manage activities with engineers, manufacturing divisions, customers, and suppliers.

  • Experience using root‑cause problem‑solving techniques.
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics and vehicle suspension architectures.
  • Knowledge of DFM for a range of manufacturing methods: stamping, forging, casting, injection molding, cold‑heading, extrusion, powder metal, etc.
  • Familiarity with industry grades of steel, aluminum, plastic, rubber, composites, etc.
  • Experience in hydraulic systems, preferably with precision components.
  • Knowledge of control systems and electrical component integration is an asset.
Compensation
