A leading company in the photonics industry is seeking a Fiber Optics Design Engineer to join their PIC Design team. In this contract role, you will leverage your expertise to design high-performance optical devices and contribute to the development of next-gen optical networks. Term: Contract
As a Fiber Optics Design Engineer working with the PIC Design team, you’ll help shape next-gen high-speed optical networks by combining deep theoretical knowledge with practical design skills to create high-performance, manufacturable photonic devices.
In this role, you will:
Design lasers, optical amplifiers, modulators, and related components with a focus on performance, reliability, and ease of manufacturing
Perform simulations of lasers, optical amplifiers, modulators, and related photonic components.
Analyze and interpret R&D test results and connect them to the underlying physical theory and computer models.
Be accountable for communicating clear and concise design decisions and related test data.
Ph.D. in Photonics, or M.Sc. in Science or engineering coupled with proven work experience in the photonics field
Proficiency in at least one complex optical, optoelectronic or RF simulation tool
Nice to have:
Familiarity with photonic device testing and/or statistical analysis
Familiarity with the III-V material system and fabrication processes
