Job summary

MGA I Michael Green Architecture is seeking a Design Architect (Intermediate to Senior) based in Vancouver, BC, to develop concepts through to built work, leading teams and collaborating directly with clients and consultants.

We emphasize wood construction, climate responsibility and sustainable design in a diverse project portfolio. Excellent Revit/SketchUp and Adobe tool proficiency are expected, with mass timber experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate: 5 to 7+ years of experience. Senior: 10+ years
  • Registered architect, or working toward registration (intermediate)
  • A portfolio that shows strong design thinking and built work
  • Working knowledge of building codes and construction detailing
  • Mass timber or sustainable design experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop design concepts and carry them through to built work
  • Lead or support project teams through all phases
  • Work directly with clients, consultants and authorities
  • Mentor younger staff (senior level)
  • You will work closely with the principals and project teams on projects that put design quality, wood construction and climate responsibility first.

Design Architect | Intermediate to Senior
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for design talent, values alignment, software proficiency, a collaborative and positive spirit, and a drive for excellence. You will bring confidence, competence and warmth when working with clients and consultant teams. You will also be committed to learning and to contributing to our work and culture. We are committed to sustainability and to rigorous, quiet design. Our primary structures are bio based, most often timber. Timber experience is preferred but not required.

What You ‘ll Do
  • Develop design concepts and carry them through to built work
  • Lead or support project teams through all phases
  • Work directly with clients, consultants and authorities
  • Mentor younger staff (senior level)

What You Bring

Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000, Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
