Job Overview

Design and Quality Technician

BW Retail Solution – New Dundee

We are seeking a skilled Design and Quality Technician to join our team. This role combines elements of quality engineering and mechanical engineering, focusing on product design, analysis, and quality assurance in the Powersports and Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) industry.

What You'll Be Doing

• Analyze product samples, specifications, and manuals. Collect and analyze data, identifying critical features.
• Assist in checking fixture design and audit processes.
• Create comprehensive parts lists and track components.
• Develop and update Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Contribute to new product design, including 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Identify and address potential issues in design layouts.
• Update existing manuals and specifications.
• Build and test prototypes.
• Outline the part and product inspection criteria and processes.

What We'll Need From You

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Exceptional 2D and 3D CAD software skills (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, and Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with design for manufacturing, specifically metal products.
• Practical experience with Powersports and OPE.
• Good manufacturing and material selection knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency with PLM/PDM systems.
• Portfolio or evidence of qualifications and experience.
• Ability to travel internationally (US, Mexico, Europe) and obtain a Chinese Visa is a must.
