Job summary

AbbVie Canada is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs team. You will develop and nurture relationships with external experts and advance scientific credibility across therapeutic areas.

You will respond to requests with key medical information, support investigator-initiated studies, and deliver credible presentations to healthcare professionals. Travel ~50% is required.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required: PhD, PharmD, or MD.
• Experience in biotech/pharma industry.
• Previous MSL experience preferred.
• Dermatology background is an asset.
• Customer-facing role in healthcare industry.
• Experience presenting/interpreting clinical research publications.
• Knowledge of scientific methods and current regulatory controls.
• Interest in developing expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product.

Responsibilities

• Develop/maintain key scientific knowledge to credibly disseminate information to external experts and healthcare professionals.
• Participate and follow-up on IIS, clinical studies and medical projects within the relevant therapeutic area.
• Provide scientific support and maintain relationships with external experts and academic centres.
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to HCPs, individually or in groups.
• Participate in identifying qualified HCPs for collaborations and advisory activities.
• Attend relevant scientific meetings/conferences and summarize key data presented.
