Job summary

The City of Kamloops is seeking a permanent, full-time Deputy Corporate Officer to support the Corporate Officer in municipal governance and legislative processes. You will lead a dedicated team, oversee Legislative Services operations, and act as Chief Election Officer for future elections and referenda.

Qualifications include a law or public administration degree, at least one year of leadership and three years of local government experience; proficiency with Roberts’ Rules of Order and MS

  • Minimum of one year of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive administrative experience in local government or legal settings.
  • Knowledge of Roberts’ Rules of Order and administering a local government Procedure Bylaw.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and provincial legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with MS Office.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

The salary range for this position is $115,178.70 - $124,776.60. The City offers a comprehensive benefit package including generous vacation and an Earned Days Off program. Along with these benefits, the City provides access to fitness facilities, various instructed programs, and community volunteer/engagement opportunities. This is an exempt Management position. For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position.
