We are seeking a skilled Deployment Project Manager to lead deployment activities for projects or bids. The role involves defining and implementing deployment strategies, including installation and testing.
Location: Burnaby, British Columbia
Responsibilities
- Define, update, and execute the end-to-end Deployment Strategy, including multiple solutions, and propose deployment objectives.
- Establish and maintain the Project Deployment baseline (activities, budget, planning) and the deployment management plan according to the strategy.
- Analyze deployment requirements with Engineering for solutions and products.
- Plan and conduct Deployment Reviews with internal teams and customers.
- Manage and control the deployed configuration, including change management.
- Ensure the use of appropriate deployment tools for activity monitoring.
- Manage changes within the Configuration Management Tool.
- Define and procure field tools, materials, and consumables.
- Participate in or chair Project Change Control Boards.
- Engage project teams to facilitate interdepartmental communication.
- Plan and coordinate installation, field testing, and commissioning activities, including design, methods, and safety assessments.
- Analyze deployment costs and schedules.
- Align bottom-up deployment plans with top-down project requirements.
- Assist in selecting and managing subcontractors for installation and field T&C.
- Coordinate with PPM to expedite acquisition processes and mitigate risks.
- Work with the Contract Manager to monitor performance and address issues impacting deployment.
- Manage supply chain operations, including logistics and warehouse management, to ensure timely availability of items.
- Ensure deployment teams provide necessary evidence for safety case documentation.
- As site manager, ensure compliance with local regulations and HSE policies.
- Approve site test and acceptance reports when necessary.
- Ensure infrastructure design complies with contracts, budgets, schedules, and migration strategies.
- Lead and manage deployment teams, drawing from extensive industrial experience, on medium complexity projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with Signalling systems, specifically CBTC, including installation and/or testing and commissioning.
- Basic project management skills such as planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and progress monitoring.
- Hybrid work setting with at least 2 days in the office, with on-site work during scheduled times, including nights.
- Willingness to travel to project sites such as Toronto for approximately two-week periods.
