Role: Project Manager

Location: Halifax, NS (Remote)

Type: Contract

Description:

• The IT Project Manager oversees various system projects and/or programs of a highly complex nature. The work assignments are often straightforward and of moderate complexity.
• The IT Project Manager assembles a project team, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. They actively manage stakeholder partnerships and mitigate risks. They are familiar with the system scope and project objectives, as well as the roles and functions of each team member, to effectively coordinate team activities.
• When managing programs, the manager oversees the interdependencies and integration of related projects, setting strategies and execution plans to deliver long-term business value. They may possess specialized knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) frameworks to manage risks and issues specific to technology projects.
• Understands professional concepts/standards, regulations, strategies, and operating standards within their work area. Makes decisions regarding work approach and priorities, following established procedures and standards. Work is often guided by precedent or documented regulations and standards, with some interpretation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field
• Less than X years of technical experience
• Demonstrated experience in technical product selection, design, and implementation of IT solutions
• Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration
• Experience working in data warehouse, decision support, and reporting systems environments
• Working knowledge of Oracle and IBM RDBMS, executive information systems, and statistical software packages
• Knowledge of development languages and tools including Cobol, CICS, DB, ASP, COM, .Net, and SQL
• Six Sigma and/or Project Management Institute Certification
• Experience in the health solutions industry
