Base pay range

CA$35.00 / hr - CA$43.00 / hr

Location : Burnaby, BC – Hybrid (min 2 days in office)

Contract Duration : 12 months with a possibility of extension or conversion to permanent

Job Title : Deployment Project Manager

Position Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Deployment Project Manager to lead and execute the deployment strategy of complex infrastructure and technology projects. This role is responsible for defining, coordinating, and overseeing all installation and test activities, ensuring successful end-to-end deployment across multiple solutions and sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project execution, cross-functional team leadership, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities :

• Define, update, and execute the project’s end-to-end deployment strategy, including installation and testing phases.
• Establish and manage deployment objectives, baseline plans (activities, budget, timeline), and the overall Deployment Management Plan.
• Ensure alignment with solution architecture, migration strategy, and contract requirements.

Execution & Monitoring

• Lead deployment activities across installation and field Test & Commissioning (T&C) stages.
• Ensure deployability of solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Oversee planning and execution of deployment reviews with internal teams and clients.
• Manage configuration changes and ensure accuracy through robust change control processes.

Risk, Cost & Schedule Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate deployment risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Analyze and control cost, scheduling, and resource planning.
• Reconcile team-level planning with overall project delivery targets.

Team & Contractor Management

• Lead and manage multiple cross-functional teams across various locations.
• Participate in the selection of subcontractors for installation and field T&C.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Tools, Logistics & Compliance

• Ensure the use of appropriate tools and processes for deployment monitoring and reporting.
• Manage the procurement and availability of field tools, materials, and consumables.
• Oversee warehouse and logistics operations to support on-time deployment.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance on-site, acting as Site Manager when needed.

Communication & Reporting

• Foster strong interdepartmental collaboration and maintain clear, consistent communication.
• Work closely with the Contract Manager to document and report deployment performance and issues impacting delivery.
• Provide the necessary documentation and evidence to support the project's safety case.

Leadership & Authority

• Act as the recognized Solution Deployment Authority.
• Lead functional or hierarchical teams with deep technical expertise and proven leadership in complex environments.
• Coach, support, and guide team supervisors as needed.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Proven experience managing complex deployment projects, preferably in infrastructure or engineering fields.
• Strong knowledge of installation, field testing, and commissioning processes.
• Experience managing multi-site teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with configuration and change management tools.

Skills :

• Primary skill is to have a candidate with Signalling (specifically CBTC) experience, who has worked either in Installation and / or Test & Commissioning of such system. Exposure to design is good also;
• Candidate to have basic Project Management skills (planning, resource management, risk identification & mitigation, progress monitoring);
• Flexibility to travel (either to Toronto or another project site) based on scope of mission, which can be for duration of 2weeks or so at a time;
