We are currently seeking a skilled Deployment Project Manager to lead deployment activities for projects or bids. The role involves defining the deployment strategy—including installation and testing—and ensuring its effective implementation.
Location : Burnaby, British Columbia
Responsibilities
- Define, update, and execute the Project's end-to-end Deployment Strategy, including multiple solutions, and propose deployment objectives.
- Define and update the Project Deployment baseline (activities, budget, planning) and the deployment management plan according to the strategy, covering installation and field testing & commissioning.
- Analyze deployment requirements for solutions and products in collaboration with Engineering.
- Plan and conduct deployment reviews with internal teams and customers.
- Manage and control the deployed configuration, including change management processes.
- Use appropriate deployment tools for activity monitoring.
- Manage configuration changes within the Configuration Management Tool.
- Define and procure field tools, materials, and consumables.
- Participate in or chair Project Change Control Boards, depending on the project phase.
- Engage project teams to ensure seamless interdepartmental communication.
- Plan, coordinate, and adjust activities related to installation, testing, and commissioning, including design, methods, and HSE risk assessments.
- Analyze cost and schedule aspects of deployment.
- Reconcile deployment planning inputs from team leaders with project management requirements.
- Assist in selecting subcontractors for installation and T&C, and oversee their performance and quality.
- Track and interface with procurement to expedite acquisition processes and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with the Contract Manager to report performance issues impacting deployment.
- Manage supply chain operations, logistics, and warehouse activities to ensure timely availability of items.
- Ensure deployment teams provide necessary evidence for safety case generation.
- As site manager, ensure compliance with local regulations and HSE policies.
- Approve site test and acceptance reports if the Field Test & Commissioning Manager is unavailable.
- Ensure infrastructure design complies with contract, budget, schedule, and migration strategy.
- Lead and manage a team as Solution Deployment Authority, drawing on extensive industrial experience.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with Signalling systems, specifically CBTC, including installation and/or testing & commissioning; exposure to design is advantageous.
- Basic project management skills, including planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and progress monitoring.
- Hybrid work environment with at least 2 days in the office; on-site work required during scheduled activities, including night shifts.
- Willingness to travel to project sites such as Toronto for periods of approximately two weeks.
