Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Richmond, BC is seeking a Department Manager to lead store operations within a dynamic grocery team. You will coordinate daily activities, coach staff and ensure excellent customer service while meeting performance targets.

The role requires retail experience, strong leadership and the ability to manage purchases, inventories, pricing and budgets. You will collaborate with colleagues to drive sales, maintain product availability and uphold company standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or college degree.
• Willingness to learn and take on department management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day department activities and staff.
• Define objectives and communicate expectations with the team.
• Oversee purchases, inventory, pricing, marketing and budgets.
• Ensure budgets are adhered to and performance targets are met.

What might a typical day look like?

As a department manager, you will have to :

• perform various management activities within your department;

• ensure the management of purchases, inventories, price lists, marketing, salary productivity according to established standards in order to ensure business readiness;
• apply and respect the budgets related to his department.
