Job summary

McDonald’s Canada is seeking an experienced Department Manager for our Greater Victoria location. You will lead by example, oversee a department, and drive targets related to sales, profitability, people, and guest experience. Strong coaching, communication, and leadership will be essential to success.

You will manage daily shifts, mentor 11–15 staff, and partner with the GM to align operations with brand standards across a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduation preferred.
• Several years in food service; 2+ years of restaurant management in quick-service or high-volume settings.
• Experience leading 11–15 employees.
• First Aid and Food Safety certifications preferred; initial certification available.
• Strong leadership, coaching, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Organized, flexible, reliable and accountable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shifts and uphold McDonald’s operating standards.
• Supervise and coach teams of approximately 11–15 employees.
• Identify operational gaps during shifts and take action to improve performance.
• Lead an assigned restaurant department and monitor progress against department goals.
• Review and analyze sales, guest count, operational and profitability results.
• Complete weekly department walk-throughs and develop action plans.
• Track and report department performance using scorecards.
• Communicate targets and priorities to employees.
• Train, coach and develop staff to improve performance.
• Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards.
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture.
• Prepare for and participate in management meetings.
