Job summary

The University of Alberta in Edmonton, AB, invites applications for a Dental Laboratory Technician - Orthodontics. This in-person role supports the Orthodontics Graduate Program under licensed dental faculty, reporting to the Supervisor of Dental Laboratory Services.

You will evaluate intraoral scans and impressions, fabricate models and orthodontic appliances, and mentor students while working within the College of Health Sciences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fixed and removable orthodontic appliances.
• In-person, on-site role at North Campus Edmonton.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates intraoral scans and/or clinical impressions for accuracy and suitability for fabrication of orthodontic appliances
• Fabricates models (3D printed or poured into dental stone) for the purpose of appliance fabrication
• Fabricate all manner of orthodontic appliances as required
• Provides ongoing assistance to graduate and undergraduate students to ensure they develop a high standard of technical expertise in the evaluation of dental prescriptions, the design of orthodontic appliances and clinical working models
• Assists students, instructors and researchers in appliance design

About the Job

Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Dental Laboratory Services, the Dental Technician provides comprehensive orthodontic laboratory services and educational technical support within the Orthodontics Graduate Program under the direction of licensed dental faculty.
