Job summary

West End Dental Centre in Canada is seeking a diligent Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists with treatments, imaging, and patient care. You will prepare rooms, handle instruments, and maintain sterile procedures to ensure patient comfort and workflow.

The role requires registration/certification with a provincial body; NDAEB is preferred and prior dental assisting experience is valued. This on-site position supports scheduling, education, and a high standard of care.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
• NDAEB is preferred.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Schedule:

• Monday: 10:00 AM- 7:00 PM
• Tuesday, Wednesday: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary:

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $25-$30/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.
