Job description

DELIVERY PERSON

There is a position available for a Delivery Person at Facilities. All applications must be completed online via the website and will be accepted until noon, May 12, 2025.

Reporting to the Operation Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery of mail, equipment, and supplies to School District facilities and other locations as required or scheduled.

Work Details
  • Hours of Work: 8 hours per day
  • Duties to Commence: May 20, 2025
  • Work Year Base: Twelve months per year
  • Starting Salary: $28.63/hr
Responsibilities
  • Picks up, sorts, and delivers mail and small equipment to and from School District and related locations, reporting damages appropriately.
  • Organizes delivery routes under the direction of the Operations Manager, prioritizing by location.
  • Ensures vehicles and equipment are in good working order, including pre-trip inspections.
  • Performs refuse collection and general labor duties for the facilities department.
  • Follows safety standards, ensuring safe work environments and proper handling of hazardous materials (WHMIS).
  • Reports vandalized equipment or property to the Operations Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Grade 10 or equivalent
  • Preferred: 3-6 months delivery experience
  • Class 5 driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate or willingness to obtain within probation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and be organized
  • W.H.M.I.S. and other safety training to be completed within probation
  • Good interpersonal skills and team orientation
  • Must pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search prior to employment
