Qualifications

  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement; Class 1 is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy trucks and hauling oversized or heavy equipment loads.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cargo securement standards and load securement regulations.
  • Experience operating forklifts, flatdeck trucks, or crane/picker trucks; relevant equipment operation certificates are an asset.
  • Strong safety awareness with a commitment to following procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with branch staff and customers.

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of equipment such as Skid steers, Tractors, excavators, etc, to customers and job sites across the region. This role plays an important part in ensuring timely, damage-free delivery and a positive customer experience at the point of handoff. The Driver works closely with the Sales, Parts, and Service teams to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and is accountable for the proper securement and handling of equipment loads in compliance with all applicable regulations. Success in this role requires a strong safety mindset, reliable attendance, and a professional approach to customer-facing interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
Delivery and Operations:
  • Transport agricultural equipment and attachments to customer locations, job sites, and other branch locations as scheduled.
  • Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, crane truck, or flatdeck) and confirm quantities and condition against delivery documentation.
  • Operate within assigned delivery windows and communicate proactively with dispatch or branch staff regarding route changes, delays, or delivery issues.
  • Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery records accurately.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of freight.
  • Support activities in the yard and rental group when required.
Cargo Securement & Equipment Handling:
  • Secure all loads in compliance with applicable regulations (provincial transport requirements) using appropriate tie-downs, binders, chains, and straps.
  • Inspect loads before departure and at required intervals to confirm securement is maintained throughout transit.
  • Operate and safely maneuver heavy equipment onto and off transport vehicles, including use of ramps, decks, and rigging as required.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance needs promptly.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Operate all vehicles and equipment in a safe, responsible manner in accordance with company policies, provincial traffic legislation, and hours-of-service regulations.
  • Maintain a clean driver’s abstract and report any changes in licence status, endorsements, or driving-related incidents immediately.
  • Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, and incident reporting as required.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety obligations and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
