Qualifications

  • Valid class 3 Drivers License with air brakes and clean driver abstract required.
  • Previous experience with tandem roll back deck truck is required.
  • Equipment hauling and trailer towing experience required.

Position Description: Northstar Equipment Rentals is hiring a Driver in Edmonton. This role will be responsible for the loading and unloading of the NorthStar Equipment Rentals delivery truck to transport all rental, sales and building materials to and from customer worksites in a safe and professional manner.

Reporting to: Customer Service Representative and Transport Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safe and courteous operation of NorthStar Equipment Rentals vehicles and equipment
  • Complete daily inspections of equipment and communicate any concerns with the Order Desk
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and constant communication with the NorthStar Equipment Rentals Order Desk
  • Responsible for securing all loads and adhering to all Provincial and Federal regulations and standards set by the Department of Transportation
  • Responsible for timely deliveries and returns of tools and equipment
  • Accurate and legible completion of customer paperwork
  • Maintain a clean and safe delivery vehicle
  • Communicate all vehicle maintenance concerns to the Transport Supervisor
  • Towing trailer, including loading and offloading of equipment
  • Perform additional job-related assignments as directed by supervisor
  • Represent NorthStar Equipment Rentals in a professional and respectful manner
  • Adhere to NorthStar Equipment Rentals’ policies and procedures

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks in an effective, organized manner, ability to multitask
  • Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail
  • Must be organized and able to work without direct supervision
  • Punctual, professional, and motivated
  • Willingness to participate with an on-call system and be able to work overtime as required
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and a clear understanding of equipment safety
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Qualifications:

  • Valid class 3 Drivers License with air brakes and clean driver abstract is required

  • Valid first aid certificate an asset
  • Forklift, MEWP and skidsteer experience/certification an asset
