Job summary

Country Grocer in Esquimalt, BC is seeking a Deli Supervisor (Full-time) to lead daily deli operations. You will manage stock orders, prep and portion a wide range of deli products, and ensure freshness and proper labeling.

This role requires strong customer service, teamwork, and the ability to work evenings and on holidays. A Food Safe certification is an asset and training will be provided for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering outstanding customer service and handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced deli environment.
• Ability to stay motivated and proactive, with strong attention to detail under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, follow directions and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to work autonomously and with a team while following department procedures.

Responsibilities

• Order stock from suppliers for the deli section.
• Prepare, package, weigh and price deli meats, cheeses, trays, salads, sandwiches and entrees.
• Ensure all items are properly labeled, covered and rotated; maintain quality and presentation.

Job Title: Deli Supervisor - Full-time

Schedule Requirements

• This position requires an open and flexible schedule with both weekday, weekend, and holidays
• This position requires the ability to work evening shifts

Pay: CA$20.75-CA$22.50 per hour

Some Of What You Will Do

• Order stock from suppliers
• Prepare, package, weigh and price a wide variety of deli meats and cheeses, party trays, fresh salads, deli sandwiches and hot and cold entrees
• Ensure all prepared items are properly labeled, covered and rotated
• Ensure excellent good quality, quantity, freshness and presentation

Experience And Education

• Current Food Safe certification is an asset, however Country Grocer will be happy to help you achieve of certification upon successful hire

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely bend, twist, reach and lift up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shift
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment and follow all established safety procedures
