Job summary

Walmart Canada in Campbell River is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to provide exemplary customer service and maintain the Bakery and Deli areas. You will also assist with stocking and helping customers with their selections.

You will rotate stock, check for expired products, ensure proper signage and pricing, and follow food-safety standards including temperature control and labeling. Minimum age is 16.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail deli/bakery environment is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety and cleanliness guidelines.
• Ability to rotate stock and manage labeling.

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
