Job summary

Walmart Canada in Nepean, ON is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to provide exemplary customer service and maintain the Bakery and Deli area. The role involves stocking, shelving, signing and pricing, and ensuring cold chain and food safety standards are followed.

You will rotate stock, prepare deli and bakery items, take orders, and assist customers early in the morning with a friendly, efficient service approach. Shifts start as early as 5:00 AM and the position pays at least CAD 18.05 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organised and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels
• Flexibility to work shifts beginning at 5:00 AM is required

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.05.
