Job summary

Thales Group in Ottawa is seeking a Project Manager to lead the AJISS Performance Management work within the Arctic Offshore Patrol Vessel program. Hybrid work arrangement, with in-office presence required and a 40-hour week, to ensure delivery to schedule, cost and quality objectives.

The role demands strong communication and stakeholder influence, plus extensive experience in defence engineering projects and PMO initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
• Certified Practicing Project Manager or equivalent (IPMA and/or PMP).
• 7+ years in engineering or defence sector.
• 5+ years managing complex projects in a matrix organization.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, lead and control project area and staff within delegated authority.
• Manage contractual performance objectives and stakeholder relationships.
• Establish and control project governance, schedule and budget baselines.
• Ensure use of Thales PM methodology and program management framework.
• Develop robust project schedules and monitor cost, schedule, and tech performance.
• Lead risk, change control, and WBS management; ensure on-time delivery.
• Motivate a cross-disciplinary integrated team and promote PMO initiatives.
