Job summary

Thales Canada is seeking a Project Manager to drive delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary programs in a hybrid Ottawa role. You will develop detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, and governance across a matrix organization to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.

This role requires seven-plus years in engineering/defence, PMP/IPMA, excellent communication, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams; travel within Canada, 40 hours, and eligibility for export control access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, business or relevant field.
• Certified Practicing Project Manager (IPMA and/or PMP)
• Demonstrated experience in the engineering or defence sector for at least 7 years
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing complex projects in a matrix organization
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and analytical abilities
• A positive and energized attitude

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, lead and control the area and staff assigned to achieve outcomes within delegated authorities.
• Establish and control the project business rhythm and governance for all projects.
• Ensure project management methodology and program management framework are used throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop a robust, optimized project schedule.
• Manage cost, schedule and technical performance against the approved baseline.
• Monitor WBS, schedule, risk register, scope changes, on-time delivery and EAC.
• Oversee achievement of project performance objectives and indicators.
• Identify resources needed and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Manage customer/stakeholder relationships and lead a cross-disciplinary team.
