Job summary

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a Designated Early Childhood Educator for a temporary assignment. The successful candidate will work alongside the Kindergarten Teacher to implement an engaging curriculum that fosters the cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of children. Qualifications

Designated Early Childhood Educator

TEMPORARY

The duration of temporary assignments cannot be guaranteed.

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Designated Early Childhood Educator. Reporting to the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the Kindergarten Teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program. The Educator will collaborate in designing programs and environments that enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Two-year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma
  • Proof of current membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • A minimum of six (6) months recent experience working in an early learning centre or daycare
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education full-day kindergarten program
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and courteously with children, parents, staff, and the public
  • Proven ability to follow directions, policies, and procedures promptly and appropriately
  • Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and take appropriate action in stressful or emergency situations according to policies and procedures
  • Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate programs
  • Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification (asset)
