In early 2023, the Corporate Finance team launched its new Debt & Capital Advisory (DCA) practice, based in Vancouver but with a national mandate, which has experienced compelling growth in a short time frame. This newly created role will position the successful candidate as one of the early DCA team members, creating an exciting opportunity to help contribute to the culture and growth of the practice.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Managing Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Business development both internally within the firm as well as externally in market
  • Support other lines of service with regards to anything banking and capital raise related
  • Support transaction from concept to successful closing with minimal supervision
  • Manage, train, develop and mentor Directors, Managers, Senior Associates, Analysts and other staff
  • Prepare, review and communicate complex financial and capital market information to clients (executives, owners and Boards)
  • Oversee the preparation and/or review of other written documents, including pitch presentations, confidential information memorandums and, management presentations
  • Prepare and/or review financial models and leverage analysis
  • Leverage experience to develop highly insightful and creative financier/investor lists
  • Lead client meetings, marketing calls, presentations, and due diligence sessions
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, other advisers, legal counsel, and transaction counterparties (e.g. financiers)
  • Oversee the due diligence process, including population of data room, managing requests and queries and coordinating responses
  • Assist with internal engagement compliance

Experiences And Skills You’ll Use To Solve

  • Comprehensive understanding of a wide variety of debt instruments and demonstrable experience closing capital raises (senior debt, junior capital, private credit and minority equity)
  • Completion of one or more professional designations (CA, CPA, CFA, CBV, MBA) preferred
  • Significant professional work experience in debt advisory, investment banking, corporate finance or lending, including a track record of developing and growing new markets, and closing transactions
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of workand integrity
  • Demonstrated ability to translate large amounts of complex business and financial information into a professional, clear and concise presentation
