Job summary

COOEC Canada Company is seeking an experienced DCS/PLC engineer to program Delta-V and AB PLC for brown field projects, integrate control systems with existing equipment, and provide technical support to operations.

The role requires at least 5 years in process control configuration, alarm database management, and a solid understanding of P&IDs, control narratives, and functional specifications. Occasional travel to Fort McMurray may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years configuration experience in Delta-V and AB PLC in oil, gas or petrochemical industries.
• Experience with alarm database management.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, control narratives, Shutdown key and functional specs.
• Deep knowledge of hardware and software in process control systems.
• Strong understanding of process control principles and techniques.
• Experience with process simulation and modeling software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Program DCS/PLC for brown fill projects with Delta-V and AB PLC.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and support process control systems.
• Integrate control systems with new equipment and EPC designs.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and EPC teams to ensure safe, functional designs.
• Conduct root cause analysis for control system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company safety policies.
• Promote a strong safety culture on-site and participate in safety reviews and HAZOP.
• Occasionally travel to Fort McMurray as required.

Job description

DCSand PLC configuration:

• ProgramDCS/PLC for brown fill projects.
• ProgramDistributed Control Systems (DCS, Delta-V, Software rev 14 and later),Programable Logic Controllers (PLC, AB ControlLogix, Siemens and other brands)and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).

Maintenance,Troubleshooting and Support:

• Integrateprocess control systems with existing and new equipment.
• Providetechnical support for process control systems, including troubleshooting andresolving issues.
• Workclosely with EPC team to ensure the design is functional and safe.
• Workwith operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth functioning of controlsystems. Conduct root cause analysis for control system failures and implementcorrective actions.

Complianceand Safety:

• Ensureall process control activities comply with industry standards, regulations, andcompany policies.
• Promoteand maintain a strong safety culture within the team and on-site.
• Participatein safety reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies.

Education:

Bachelor’sdegree in Process Control, Chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or arelated field. A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience and Skill requirements:
