Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Bolton, Ontario seeks a seasoned commercial driver to load, transport, and unload auto parts to customer sites. You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain accurate logs, and comply with DOT and company safety standards.

The role requires CDL Class A with Haz‑Mat endorsement, 2 years of heavy truck or 3 years of tractor-trailer experience, and a clean, documented driving history. Day shifts with Monday–Friday schedule offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; multiple years of heavy-truck driving experience.
  • Certified CDL Class A with Haz‑Mat endorsement; defensive driving preferred.
  • Ability to operate power equipment and load/unload safely.

Responsibilities

  • Load product onto trucks at the distribution center and prepare for delivery.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure cargo is undamaged with complete paperwork.
  • Deliver product to customer locations and unload at their dock.
  • Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations and report any defects or incidents.
  • Comply with company driving policies and safety rules.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Load product onto truck at the Distribution Center and prepare for delivery. May be required to use power equipment, such as a forklift or pallet jack, to load the truck.
  • Perform pre‑trip inspection of vehicles, trailers, and cargo to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order and that cargo is undamaged with all load‑related documentation complete and accurate.
  • Inspect tractor‑trailer for defects pre‑/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off‑hour delivery. Inspect trailer to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport.
  • Deliver product from the Distribution Center to the customer’s location, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
  • Drive tractor‑trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
  • Unload product from truck to customer’s dock, inspecting cargo and completing required documentation.
  • Perform all responsibilities in adherence with established company driving policies and procedures. Remain compliant with company, state, and federal testing and licensing requirements, submitting proof as requested.
  • Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt and exceptions.
  • Unload trailer and deliver product into the customer premises.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles as required by company policies.
  • Understand and demonstrate Advance Auto Parts' core values.
Qualifications
  • Adhere to established safe driving guidelines.
  • Use equipment such as forklift and pallet jack to load trucks, and remain certified to operate all such equipment.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, following all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Drive day or night routes, set or dynamic schedule.
  • Have the ability to back up into tight situations such as blind side or busy street.
  • Work safely and well with yourself and others including backhaul vendors, DC team members, store team members, motoring public, and fellow drivers.
  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Clean driving record or good MVR for at least 3 years.
Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or GED equivalent required; minimum two years of experience driving heavy box trucks or three years’ experience driving tractor‑trailers required; defensive driver training preferred; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
