Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Dayforce WFM System Consultant based in Canada.

Join a growing consulting team dedicated to helping organizations modernize their workforce management and HR operations. As a Dayforce WFM System Consultant, you will lead end-to-end implementations, transforming client requirements into efficient, scalable workforce management solutions. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, from discovery and solution design to configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. Your expertise will help clients optimize timekeeping, employee scheduling, attendance tracking, and labor management processes. Working closely with clients and technical specialists, you will build trusted relationships while delivering high-quality implementation outcomes. This remote opportunity offers exposure to diverse industries, challenging projects, and continuous professional development. If you enjoy solving complex problems, improving operational efficiency, and taking ownership of your work, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow your consulting career.

Accountabilities
  • Lead end-to-end implementations: Manage the Workforce Management (WFM) workstream throughout the Dayforce implementation lifecycle, including discovery, requirements gathering, gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, cutover, go-live, and post-implementation support.
  • Analyze client requirements: Gather, document, and validate business needs, map them to Dayforce capabilities, and recommend best practices that improve operational efficiency and system performance.
  • Configure workforce management solutions: Implement and validate Time and Attendance and Scheduling functionality, including pay policies, pay codes, overtime and premium rules, attendance policies, accruals, scheduling rules, labor forecasting, and time clock devices.
  • Manage data mapping and integrations: Map data from existing timekeeping and scheduling systems, prepare functional specifications for customizations, and collaborate with integration specialists to ensure accurate WFM-to-payroll data flows, including hours, pay codes, and accrual balances.
  • Coordinate testing and quality assurance: Develop test scenarios and lead unit, system, and user acceptance testing. Validate pay rules against time and payroll results, investigate defects, document root causes, and coordinate resolutions.
  • Support deployment and cutover: Plan and execute implementation readiness activities, including accrual balance transfers, schedule configuration, time clock deployment, and go-live preparation.
  • Facilitate client workshops: Lead working sessions, communicate recommendations, and produce clear design documents, configuration workbooks, and meeting notes.
  • Provide post-go-live support: Troubleshoot issues, support system stabilization, and transfer knowledge to client teams so they can confidently maintain and manage their solutions.
  • Manage project delivery: Oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously, track time accurately, forecast project hours, monitor performance indicators, and communicate risks or issues promptly to project managers and practice leaders.
  • Contribute to practice development: Document implementation best practices, share technical solutions, mentor colleagues, and stay informed about new Dayforce releases and product capabilities.
Requirements
  • Professional experience: At least 3 years of hands-on Dayforce implementation experience, including direct configuration of Workforce Management functionality such as Time and Attendance, Scheduling, accruals, and pay policies.
  • Implementation expertise: Proven experience delivering complete Dayforce implementations from initial discovery through configuration, deployment, go-live, and post-go-live support.
  • Workforce management knowledge: Strong understanding of timekeeping, scheduling, attendance, and labor practices, including FLSA overtime requirements, state meal and break regulations, and union or collective bargaining rules.
  • Testing and troubleshooting: Experience developing test scenarios, coordinating testing cycles, validating system functionality, investigating defects, and documenting issues through resolution.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Technical skills: Practical knowledge of Dayforce WFM configuration and an understanding of workforce data flows, system integrations, and the relationship between workforce management and payroll.
  • Client relationship management: Confidence working directly with clients, building trusted relationships, facilitating discussions, managing stakeholder expectations, and responding constructively to feedback.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and lead client workshops.
  • Organization and accountability: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client projects, prioritize competing deadlines, maintain accurate timesheets, meet utilization targets, and deliver high-quality work with minimal defects.
  • Problem-solving and collaboration: A proactive, detail-oriented approach to resolving issues, managing project risks, and collaborating effectively with clients, project managers, and technical specialists.
  • Preferred implementation experience: Familiarity with Dayforce Activate implementation tools, previous experience at a Dayforce implementation partner or directly with Dayforce, or a Dayforce WFM certification. Candidates should also be willing to pursue certification during onboarding if needed.
