CoreFactor is searching for a Database Developer on a contract basis for a client in the GTA.
This role is hybrid and will require the successful incumbent to go into the office two (2) times per week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather and comprehend project requirements from both functional and technical perspectives, and collaborate with stakeholders including the IT infrastructure team, external vendors, and internal SMEs from other all lines of business.
- Support end-users of both third party and in-house developed applications
- Document technical procedures and workflows for OT applications, integrations and database management activities.
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and database scripts for both SQL and Oracle databases to support business data flows.
- Develop and support approved ad-hoc reporting and data extraction requests from lines of business to drive informed decision-making.
- Develop operational and project dashboards using Power BI (or other applications)
- Document technical procedures and workflows for OT applications, integrations and database management activities.
- Develop and maintain custom applications as part of a team using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SSRS, MySQL, webMethods, Linux (Basic Commands), and various other programming and scripting languages as required.
- Support and maintain OT system applications to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot middleware integrations between OT systems and other enterprise/field systems (ex. GIS, MWFM, Genesys, ADMS, etc.)
- Analyze, comprehend, and support legacy system integrations.
- Support system patching activities for critical OT systems in coordination with vendors and IT infrastructure team.
- Ensure cyber security compliance in the implementation, integration, and support of OT systems.
- Keep skills current and independently acquire new skills by leveraging online resources.
Requirements
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Oracle 19C database experience/XQuery Packages/Procedures/Triggers/Queries
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
- Strong understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP), messaging systems, and data transformation (XML, JSON).
- Experience with webMethods middleware platform is an asset.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization using tools such as excel, PowerBI etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to learn and adapt very quickly.
- Ability to work independently or in a small team environment.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years (including co-op/internships) of relevant experience with systems integration, data analytics, report and dashboard creating, database development (SQL and Oracle), and application support.
- Understanding of cyber security principles and best practices relating to OT system integrations.
